Sonia Denis is a writer, comedian, and actor you should know.
It’s no surprise Sonia was recently included in Vulture’s 2018 Comics to Watch. She has performed stand-up on Comedy Central’s The New Negroes and the podcast 2 Dope Queens. Her comedy is at once frenetic and thoughtfully conceived.
You may also seen her on HBO’s High Maintenance, or in the Netflix film Set It Up. Sonia co-starred in the Emmy-nominated web series Brown Girls. She has also written witty, humorous essays for McSweeney’s Internet Tendency and the New Yorker.
More recently, Sonia hosted Refinery 29’s digital talk show After After Party — a nightly pop-culture show on Facebook Watch where “comedians, celebrities, and cultural critics…deliver hot takes on what’s happening in our culture.” The show ended in May, but remains a great showcase for Sonia’s high-energy, charming, and self-reflective sensibilities.
We can’t wait to see more from Sonia!
