Sabrina Jalees is a comedian, writer, and actor you should know.
Sabrina’s originally from Toronto, where she started as a standup at age 16.
You can stream her quarter-hour comedy special on Netflix as part of the show The Comedy Lineup. She is super charming as she talks about feminism, coming out to her Pakistani family, and her wife’s pregnancy.
Sabrina has appeared on Transparent, The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Last Comic Standing, Adam Devine’s House Party. She’s also written for multiple TV series including Big Mouth, Search Party, and Baroness von Sketch Show.
In the fall, you can watch her in the upcoming CBS sitcom Carol’s Second Act with Patricia Heaton and Kyle MacLachlan.
We’re also excited to hear more about Hanging On – a sitcom she’s developing with Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult). Deadline describes the premise:
To escape the boredom of retirement and a strained relationship, Phyllis and her husband make a cross-country move from North Carolina and into a house across the street from their lesbian daughter and her new fiancé. Unexpectedly, moving far away from their old life and being inspired by their daughter’s relationship brings them closer together.
We can’t wait.
