Joel Kim Booster is an actor, writer, and comedian you should know.
Joel began his stand-up career in an unconventional fashion by opening up for plays in Chicago’s theater scene. In 2014, he moved to New York to actively pursue comedy and by 2016 made his first appearance on Conan.
Since then, he’s appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Netflix, Comedy Central, and more. In 2018, he released his debut stand-up album, Model Minority. On stage, he is upbeat and fun and his jokes are both self-deprecating and confident at the same time.
Joel has worked as a writer on funny shows like Billy on the Street, Big Mouth, and The Other Two. His acting credits include the Netflix film The Week Of, Hulu’s Shrill, and the third season of TBS’s Search Party.
Watch out for him this fall as a primary cast member on Mike Schur’s (Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99) upcoming NBC sitcom Sunnyside. In a cast that includes Kal Penn and Kiran Deol, Joel plays a super-wealthy immigrant trying to become an American citizen. (trailer)
